Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4

Finally, Changi Airport Terminal 4 is opened.

T4 is built on a plot of land that was originally occupied by the Budget Terminal, which was demolished on 25 September 2012 to make way for a new, larger, full-service passenger building (T4) that will cater to Changi Airport's growing traffic.

T4 will serve both full-service and low cost carriers, and have an annual passenger movement capacity of 16 million. This would bring Changi Airport's total passenger capacity to 82 million per annum.

Read more from official website.

For those taking the MRT Train, take the shuttle bus at Terminal 2 to Terminal 4. The shuttle bus is free. Frequency is about every 10 minutes.

Terminal 4 definitely looked better than the previous budget terminal. The new terminal features start-to-end self-service systems, allowing travellers to check in, deposit their baggage and even go through immigration via automated systems.

Of course, not everyone at Terminal 4 is travelling, some went there for the food. There's a food court, Food Emporium, that had many stalls selling mostly Singapore local food. Of course, I had a great time eating there.

I had the Prawn Noodle while hubby had the nasi lemak, they were really tasty and delicious. Will go again for the food from other stalls.

Jewel of Singapore Changi Airport (Video from Straits Times)

Wow, looking forward to the opening of The Jewel of Singapore Changi Airport. It will be opening somewhere in 2019.

The christmas mood is already here at Changi Airport. The Light and Snow show was a delight to the crowd. The "snow" was actually some soap bubbles. As it was also the long school holiday in Singapore, kids were out in force for the beloved Pikachu. I missed out the Pikachu Parade last week but decided to come down to watch the light show instead. There were few different timings of the show and also the meet and greet by Pikachu Mascots.

Expect huge crowd and queues for the meet and greet sessions.

Enjoying the ambience in T3 Changi Airport

Changi Airport Terminal 3 is so huge that people go there even if they are not taking the planes.

Some even studied there.

Changi Airport - Food

Changi Aiport is so cozy and beautiful that you dont have to be there only to send or received friends or family members.

We do actually go there just to have our lunch/dinner....lol. Best there are no GST charges at the restaurants in the airpot.

Eateries and shops at Terminal 3 of Changi Airport.

At the basement there is a food court which offer cheaper food and local flavours.

We are so spoilt with so many choices.

Changi Airport Terminal 1

After taking so many photos of our new Terminal 3, I have lost interest in the photo-taking of Terminal 1...lol. But the good news was that there would be a major renovations for Terminal 1 and budget terminal.

The check in hall of terminal 1. It looked so old as compared with the new terminal 3.

Taking the long travellators to our gate for boarding of our plane to South Korea.

Cheap cosmetics at the duty free shop in Terminal 1.

Delightful and many cute toys for the kids.

Changi Airport Terminal 3

These few photos are my best personal shot of Changi Airport Terminal 3 where it shows the very spacious halls of the airport. I like these photos the best.
Above photo is the departure hall.

Another section of the departure hall where the check in counters are.

Above photo is also another part of the departure hall.

From the departure hall, we can view into the transit hall. This is the main transit hall where performance, etc are held.

I have now come to an end of my posting of Changi Airport Terminal 3 open house. I would only post future photos of T3 when it is fully operational and when all the shops and eateries are open. Hope you enjoy my virtual tour of Changi Airport Terminal 3 and look out for its official opening on 9th January 2008.

Changi Airport Terminal 3 - Basement

This is the basement of Changi Airport Terminal 3. The basement consists of many shops and eateries too. And I had repeated many times that T3 is like a big shopping mall....lol. And I am coming quite close to finish posting all the T3 open house photos.

Changi Airport Terminal 3 - Sky Train

This new inter-terminal skytrain system comprises 16 train cars, each with a capacity of 97 passengers. It will ensure that you get to the other terminals (T1 and T2) in no time. There is also a shuttle service to transport you to the further end of the 'A' gates. The previous posting of photos belong only to 'B' gates as 'A' gates are closed for renovations. That is how big T3 is. (Source: T3 open house guide)

Hopefully I get to go T3 when I next travel and post more photo of 'A' gates.

The building under construction on the right of the above photo is the yet to be open 4 star Airport Hotel, the 9 storey Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Changi Airport Terminal 3 - Glass Lift

The extensive use of glass in Changi Airport terminal 3 allows passengers and visitors to see both the airside and landside shopping and dining areas. Even the lifts are not spared, they are glass walled too and very spacious.

Changi Airport Terminal 3 - Green Wall

This is the much talked about green wall. It is a five storey high and 300 m wide vertical garden featuring 25 species of climbing plants which can be view from both the departure and arrival halls. This is fantastic and very beautiful.

This photo is taken from the arrival hall where the luggage belts are. So the next time you visit Singapore, do remember to look at the green wall as you wait to collect your luggages.

The plants are watered automatically. (Those white vapours you see in the below photo are actually water being pump out of sprinklers.)

I spotted flowers growing from the plants. This is cool.

Closer view of the green wall.

This photo is taken from the departure hall. No concrete wall in here, most of the walls are glass panel walls. Very impressive.

Sorry, my lens could not take the whole 300 m wide green wall, this is as wide as I can take.....lol
